Fantasy of Lights

Annual Holiday fundraising event between Thanksgiving and New Years which benefits the Easterseals Rehabilitation Center. Through hours of volunteer service from our local Union workers, Garvin Park is transformed into a Holiday Wonderland dozens of animated light displays, some up to 25 feet tall.

Construction of the 100ft x 60ft storage building, which will house and protect the more than 60 individual Fantasy of Lights displays year round, was built by the Electricians, Laborers, Operators, Sheet Metal (SMART), Ironworkers, and Painters Unions.

Mickey’s Kingdom

The newly constructed 21,000 sq.ft. playground in Downtown Evansville provides a clean and safe environment for children and families of ALL abilities to enjoy 365 days a year. 

Construction began mid-May 2018 by our Operators, Teamsters, Pipefitters, and Laborers’, and a 10-day community build of the playground equipment took place September 14-23, 2018. The official Dedication & Grand Opening was held on October 27, 2018.

Supporting the Community

Evansville State Hospital

Building Trades Delegate John Bates of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 136 is delivering donated items to the Evansville State Hospital. The Building Trades has been hosting an Annual Christmas Party for the patients at the hospital for over 50 years, with clothing, hygiene products and other items being donated.

Aurora

In addition to hosting an annual golf scramble by the I.B.E.W. 16, Building Trades affiliates also worked to renovate the Aurora facility and construct the storage building for Mary Street. Aurora is a non-profit organization which serves the homeless and near homeless in the Greater Evansville area.

United Caring Services

Volunteers from Ironworkers Local 103 prep and serve meals at UCS. United Caring Services in Evansville provides homeless shelters, services, and solutions for men, women and children, including emergency day and night shelters.
